The First Week...
My 1st week on the HND Interactive Media course at Wakefield College has been very good so far. The assignments seem to be very well structured and set out. Also the That’s The Plan (A2) assignment is for a website plan which is what professional website designers would do before building a site. This gives the course a worthwhile feeling to me and unlike any other I’ve done before where it has been so generalised. In the assignment I have to choose a Great Briton to do the website plan about. For this I have chosen past Radio 1 DJ, John Peel.
Another assignment set in the first week was A1: SketchBlog. This assignment was set for us to monitor our work and provide evidence at the end of our assignments. The Sketch part of the title is for our sketchbook where we should jot down ideas, take notes and annotate ideas. The blog part is a weblog which we use to evaluate our work on a regular basis and also blog ideas.
I am enjoying the assignments at the moment, especially the website planning as I can see this being a big help to me academically and also professionally in my current work as a website designer. The SketchBlog task will also teach me to constantly evaluate my work to see if targets are being met and everything is on track.
Overall the course is going well and I am enjoying the lectures so far and I hope it continues throughout the course.
