Mid Holiday...
It has certainly been a busy week for me and I seem to be more behind than I initially thought at the beginning of the week. Presentations are only around the corner and it seems to have caught up very fast.
I have been enjoying doing the presentations though. The research is interesting and doing all the little typographical alignments in InDesign is good fun. I'm glad that we are able to have a practice on Thursday as this is going to point out any massive errors before the big day.
Timing is something I'm having problems with when designing slides and writing cue cards. It's hard to get right without actually saying it out loud and timing it. I was once told in Media at college that a newsreaders pace is generally around 3 words per second. So that can be upto 180 words a minute.
I've found looking back at my notes in my previous sketchbook to be very helpful with the presentations. All those tips and tricks that Steve mentioned in a lecture are all there and ready to look back at. It made me realise that your sketchbook really is a valuable tool and I've also started to use one for freelance work, that one is rather bare though at the minute!
